Support
We appreciate that the introduction of a charging Clean Air Zone is challenging for some people.
We are doing what we can to support people who are most impacted, including people on low incomes and small businesses.
We are offering grants and loans to help people and businesses replace vehicles that don’t meet the zone’s emission standards.
Individuals
If you work in the Clean Air Zone and earn less than £26,000, you’ll be prioritised for support.
Businesses
Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and self-employed people based or working in the zone will also be prioritised for business grants.
We may extend our support packages to other businesses and organisations outside the zone depending on the level of interest in our first round of loans and grants.
Sharing information with your communities, teams and networks
We have created toolkits with additional information about the Clean Air Zone. There’s information about the support available, newsletter, email and social media content you can share with your local audiences plus details on charging and how to pay if you need to.
Please read the relevant toolkit and share as much as you can.

We have also created an Easy Read version of the Clean Air Zone leaflet which can be downloaded and shared as needed.
